COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

SUSTAINABILITY IS AT THE FOREFRONT OF CREST NICHOLSON'S BUSINESS MODEL AND DEVELOPMENTS.

Crest Nicholson is committed to delivering high quality homes and new communities. The development being promoted by Crest Nicholson will exceed some aspects of policy requirements on both a local and national level, meaning every single house built by Crest Nicholson will be built to high sustainability standards.

Furthermore, the development intends to use modern and sustainable methods to heat these new homes. Crest Nicholson will use air source heat pumps, rather than using gas boilers. This will allow for all of the new homes to be more energy efficient and reduce the carbon footprints of all new homes.

OPEN SPACE PROVISION

Crest Nicholson will deliver a substantial volume of open green space within the development. The site is 12.2 hectares in size and Crest Nicholson intends to dedicate approximately one third of that for open space.

A dedicated network of formal and informal network space will be provided. This will include Local Areas of Play (LAP) and Local and Neighbourhood Equipped Areas for Play (LEAP) which will be situated in residential areas and provide an opportunity for children of a range of ages to play.

The remainder of the open space will be reserved for landscape and ecological enhancements, which are expected to generate biodiversity net gains. The informal open space that is provided will create a new network of interconnected foot and cycle paths and associated spaces that will create new opportunities for informal recreation.

The proposed development enables the delivery of this significant green infrastructure resource which will have considerable environmental and social benefit.
